Monday Club stepped into the studio this week, and the energy was right from the start. A whole mix of people came through, new faces linking up with familiar ones, all bringing something different to the space.
We locked in on building the beat for the track we’ll be writing over in the coming weeks. The sound is jazz-infused, with people actually playing into the sample selection, adding their own touch and shaping the feel in real time. It wasn’t just producing, it was collaboration in its purest form. Different voices, different ideas, all feeding into the music and landing in key moments.
Once we had the structure down, we headed upstairs and started sketching out potential hooks. Early ideas, nothing set in stone yet, but you could already hear where things might land. There’s a saxophone part in there that feels like it could carry the chorus nicely, but we’ll see what everyone brings to the table next week.
That’s the process for us. Build it together, test ideas, leave space for people to find their voice in it.
