Armand Cowell
“Some verses are written to survive the moment they were born in.”
— Armand Cowell
Armand Cowell is a Hip-Hop artist from Dwygyfylchi whose music emerged from adversity, introspection, and the urgency to create while navigating homelessness. Beginning his journey while living in a hotel room, he transformed years of personal writing into music that balanced raw honesty with emotional depth. Having written poetry since the age of fourteen, Armand found a new sense of purpose when his words met rhythm - discovering in Hip-Hop an outlet that gave shape to both struggle and self-expression.
At the core of his artistry is improvisational freestyle, a process he values as deeply as the final recording itself. For Armand, creation is less about perfection and more about capturing truth in real time; allowing instinct, vulnerability, and emotion to guide each performance. His work often moves between the crude and the profound, reflecting lived experience without compromise or over-polishing.
Through his involvement with UAM, Armand was able to turn abstract creative ambitions into something tangible. After attending a lyric writing workshop, he became part of the Artist Development Programme - gaining not only practical tools for artistic growth, but also a supportive community that helped him endure some of the most difficult periods of his life.
Grounded in authenticity and driven by a deep connection to the creative process, Armand Cowell represents a voice shaped not by image or industry convention, but by resilience, spontaneity, and the transformative power of music.
