M. Yesekaon

“You don't hear the conversations if you're not in the room.”
— M. Yesekaon

M. Yesekaon is a Director and Executive Producer from Colwyn Bay whose work sits at the intersection of sharp lyricism, artist development, and independent music culture. Since beginning his music journey in 2020, he has steadily built a reputation as both a creative force and a community-driven industry figure.

With a BA (Hons) in Creative Writing and an MA (Hons) in Popular Music Practice, M. Yesekaon approaches music with both technical understanding and a storyteller’s mindset. While deeply rooted in Hip-Hop culture as a self-proclaimed Hip-Hop head, his catalogue regularly experiments beyond genre boundaries, blending influences and pushing creative limitations through versatile production and songwriting.

Inspired by artists and producers such as Conductor Williams, A Tribe Called Quest, Loyle Carner, Nix Northwest, and The Alchemist, his sound balances soulful experimentation with grounded lyricism and textured, sample-driven aesthetics.

His growing list of achievements includes winning the 2024 Wordplay Magazine Novembarz Challenge, receiving multiple plays on BBC Wales, and opening for legendary Hip-Hop group Souls of Mischief. Alongside performance and production, he is also an experienced workshop practitioner, using music as a tool for development, collaboration, and creative education.

Beyond his own artistry, M. Yesekaon plays a key role in supporting emerging talent through UAM Records, where he oversees distribution opportunities offered to collaborators and artists involved in the Artist Development Programme. His work reflects a commitment not only to creating impactful music, but also to building spaces where independent artists can grow, connect, and be heard.
