This week saw the start of the 5th round of Monday Club, which honestly feels a bit mad to say out loud. We’ve got some real veterans at UAM now, people who’ve been building confidence, sharpening their craft, and growing alongside the movement week after week.
As always, we kicked things off by introducing ourselves, talking about what we aim to do at the club, and setting the tone for the weeks ahead before diving straight into cadence and syllables. Understanding how words move, bounce, and land on a beat is such a huge part of finding your own voice, and it was great seeing everybody getting stuck into it early.
We had 16 people in the room this week with loads of new faces coming through, which is always exciting for us. Seeing people want to step into the space, work on their craft, and put pen to paper never gets old. Every new person brings a different perspective, a different story, and different energy into the room.
You could really feel the buzz this week too. High energy from the start, people sharing ideas, testing flows, and getting excited about what they’ve been writing. That atmosphere is what makes Monday Club what it is, a space where people can experiment, grow in confidence, and push themselves creatively without pressure.
Round 5 is officially underway. Roll on week 2.
