Analogue vs Digital at Monday Club

Published on 26 May 2026 at 14:35

Once again, we’re back with Monday Club Season 5, and this week’s session landed right in the middle of a scorching Bank Holiday Monday. Heatwave or not, the grind never stops.

The original plan was to start building the beat for the next track, but once the conversation got going, we ended up diving much deeper into the topic than expected. This week’s focus became analogue vs digital, breaking down the pros, cons, textures, feeling, and overall experience of both worlds. From dusty samples and hardware to clean plugins and instant access, everybody had something to say.

What started as a discussion slowly turned into something way more entertaining. We split the room into two teams, one side writing bars in support of digital, the other defending analogue. Somewhere along the way, a full rap battle energy emerged and honestly, it was chaos in the best possible way.

The best part though was seeing some of the newer members step up and perform what they’d written, even people who wouldn’t usually call themselves rappers. That moment when somebody decides to give it a go anyway is always important to us. The veterans kept the pace moving, encouraged everybody, and helped create the kind of atmosphere where people feel comfortable trying something new.

That’s one of the best things about Monday Club. When people step outside their comfort zone, get their bars off, and realise they’re capable of more than they thought. Those are the moments where real props get given.

Next week, we’ll actually make the beat this time. Probably. Haha.
